Most importantly, Senator Wyden gave the DOE 60 days to produce a "blueprint" of its plans for energy storage after the current stimulus program is complete. He wants the momentum created by the stimulus to continue and not allow DOE to "wait and see what happens" as a result of the stimulus. Senator Wyden pressed FERC Chairman Wellinghof to make storage a higher priority in rule making by FERC. This meeting featured a well-balanced program on storage applications and technologies, plus the first Storage Technology Showcase with 13 exhibitors.
As the interest in energy storage expands, the ESA continues to expand its activities and services to members. Your ESA Board has rolled out a new improved website with a much improved database on grid storage.
